Trevoh Chalobah Expected to Step in for Guehi in Three Lions Selection

The Chelsea star emulated his brother Nathaniel in playing for England, becoming the 21st pair of brothers to be selected for the national team.

The Chelsea defender is set to be added to the England squad to replace unavailable Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi.

The 26-year-old footballer is set to join the national side for England's remaining World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Serbia, although it has not yet been made public.

The England team have already booked their place for the upcoming World Cup.

Chalobah earned his first call-up under England manager Thomas Tuchel in May and then played his first game against Senegal.

In September, Tuchel said Chalobah was unlucky to be omitted from the squad for qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia, and also did not select him for the next October international break.

Tuchel has been an key influence in Chalobah's development, having awarded him his Chelsea debut in 2021.

Chalobah has featured in almost every matches for Chelsea in the current campaign, with the side third in the English top flight, in the Carabao Cup last eight and in the league phase of the Champions League.

Guehi sustained a injury to his foot in Crystal Palace's Europa Conference League win over the Dutch side recently.

There are expected to be further inclusions to the team. Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has said that both winger Anthony Gordon (hip injury) and goalkeeper Nick Pope (concussion symptoms) will be unavailable from the England setup.
